When two slightly different sound frequencies (measured in Hertz [Hz] = number of cycles per second) are played in each ear, the brain perceives them as a new sound, a kind of beat with a fixed frequency. This is called a binaural beat. The sound frequency perceived by the brain corresponds to the difference between the two frequencies presented to each ear and does not exist in itself, it is an auditory artifact, a sound illusion. For example, you get a binaural beat of 8 Hz by playing a frequency of 60 Hz in one ear and a frequency of 68 Hz in the other. The action of binaural beats is manifested when the brain synchronizes its own frequency (its neural activity) and changes its brain waves to approximate the frequency of the binaural beat. Certain frequencies make it possible to improve, or on the contrary to contain various cognitive functions, such as sleep, relaxation, meditation, motivation, joy, courage, motivation, but also fear, sorrow and others
emotions considered rather negative, but which are not in fact. The state and frequency of our brain waves plays a role in our consciousness but especially in the subconscious and affects our thoughts, behaviors and emotions. To make the most of binaural beats, you must listen with headphones, or be placed in the center of the stereo sound (the listener and the 2 loudspeakers make an equilateral triangle)
